God Didn’t Call Us to Quit

God didn’t call us to quit. God didn’t call us to throw in the towel at the sight of danger. God called us to be more than conquerors. Life isn’t easy, but we’re not alone. We have the Creator of heaven and earth on our side. And the Bible says that if God is with us, who can be against us?

But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. – Matthew 24:13

Difficult Moments Will Come But God has Overcome

All of the great men of the Bible faced difficult moments. David faced a giant that was intimidating God’s people. Joseph was sold into slavery by his own brothers. It’s not a good feeling to know that we’ll also face difficult moments. But we shouldn’t allow it to put fear in our hearts and minds. On the contrary it should give us even more reason to run to Christ. Only with Christ can we conquer and live a fulfilling life.

The Bible says that the angel of the Lord encompasses around those that fear Him, and He defends them. It also says that, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91:1).” Fear sends us into hiding, but God calls us to believe in Him and His word. If God is for us, who can be against us?

The Enemy Wants to Put Fear in Us, But Christ is Our Refuge

The enemy wants to instill fear in us through many methods; Dreams, difficult circumstances, shortcomings, etc. He’s always looking for ways to discourage us. The Bible talks about the three things the devil came to do and that’s to kill, steal, and destroy. But it also tells us that Christ came to give life and to give it abundantly. Whenever we’re facing difficult circumstances we shouldn’t allow the devil to keep us in fear, but we should run to our refuge in Jesus Christ.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. – John 10:10

Greater is He that is in us than him that is in the world. God is greater than any problem we encounter. He’s greater than any sin that wants to bring us down. Jesus conquered at the Cross more than 2,000 years ago and He resurrected from the dead. Because of this we can look at life with optimism. It won’t be easy and we’ll face difficult moments, but we won’t go through it alone. God is with us and God has never lost a battle.

God Will Always Be With You

I want to close out this post with Psalm 91. Read it out loud and declare it over your life and over your loved ones lives. God is with you! He loves you and He promised to always be with you. He didn’t say He’d be with you only in the good times. No. He says, “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen (Matthew 28:20).”

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. – Psalm 91
