Justified by Faith in Jesus

Touching hands, God's mercy, love, messy daily prompt, hands photography, God helping you,

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. – Romans 5:1

This morning I had some down time and I started to look over different articles online. Boxing, pro wrestling, news, I started reading article after article. But then I realized that I should be reading the Bible. Not to say that reading informative articles is bad but I know that we all have a need for the word of God. I liked what a preacher said in regards to reading the Bible. We have to read the Bible because the word of God has power to cut the sin out of our lives. So I stopped reading articles and I opened my Bible.

I started reading Romans last week and I’m in chapter five. I love how the word reminds us of our condition but it also gives us good news. When Adam and Eve sinned, sin came into the world. Ever since then the world has been ravaged by evil and mankind has been separated from God’s love. But thankfully Jesus Christ comes into the picture.

Jesus was the Father’s way to reconcile us to Himself. Ever since the beginning of time God’s desire has been to have a relationship with men and women but mankind has given Him their back. Jesus’ death at the cross of Cavalry was God’s public demonstration of His love for humanity.

God's love

That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. – Romans 5:21

Before Christ none of us had any hope of entering heaven. The Bible says in Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” No amount of good works or good intentions will be enough to earn us a seat in heaven. But thankfully we have Jesus who descended from heaven more than 2,000 years ago and lived among us.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. – John 1:14

Jesus was God in flesh dwelling among us, relating Himself to us. That’s why we can’t say that God doesn’t understand us, because He does! Jesus Christ, the word says, dwelt among us and was tempted in all things but He never sinned. So Jesus lived a life just like you and me. He was hungry, He cried, He suffered loss, He got angry, He got tired, and everything you and I go through on a daily basis, He experienced. But again the only thing that He didn’t do was sin. He was tempted like you and me, but He never sinned.

Jesus was perfect and was like a lamb without blemish. Prior to Christ animal sacrifices were common. Each year they would find an animal like a lamb without blemish and the healthiest of the bunch to sacrifice to God for the forgiveness of their sins. But this was done frequently because the sacrifices weren’t perfect. But Jesus is perfect. So when he shed His blood on the cross it was enough to forgive us of our sins from yesterday, today, and forever. But that’s only if we place our trust and confidence in Christ alone.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. – Romans 10:9

We were enemies with God but He loves us so much that He came on a mission to reconcile us to Him and to fix a broken relationship. God has been good and continues to be good. Remember that His arms are wide open to receive you and to offer you the free gift of salvation. Eternal life is found only in Jesus Christ. Jesus said, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6).”
