Why I Share the Manny Pacquiao Foundation

Why does the Manny Pacquiao Foundation have a place in Revival in Christ? It started in 2009 when I discovered boxing. Manny Pacquiao fought Miguel Cotto. I didn’t know anything about boxing besides an Oscar de La Hoya vs. Manny Pacquiao flyer we got in the mail. Pacquiao vs. Cotto was my introduction to the sport. The fight was exciting and caught my interest immediately. I ended up becoming a fan of both fighters. But, there was something about Manny Pacquiao. He was exciting yet relentless and violent. Outside of the ring he had a humble demeanor that contrasted with the violence in boxing.

I began to follow boxing and his career. I saw his fights and learned his story. A true rags to riches story that led him to incredible heights in boxing but also to the Cross. Manny Pacquiao’s humble demeanor, desire to help others, and public faith while showing a willingness to continue fighting in all areas of life, that’s what endeared me to him.

The Fight Beyond Boxing

Sharing the Manny Pacquiao Foundation in Revival in Christ isn’t about an official partnership but rather a personal decision to share the life and work of someone I deeply respect and admire. Manny Pacquiao‘s story and character, inside and outside of the ring, have been influential to me. His foundation has Christian roots that focus on fighting for the less fortunate. My desire is not to focus on boxing but on the message and how boxing is a reflection of life. Knockdowns happen and we all experience failure. But, real fighters get back up and keep fighting. I encourage you to check out the Manny Pacquiao Foundation.
