Good evening, and welcome to Revival in Christ. I hope you’re having a wonderful day. Today is March 1st, 2026, and a lot is happening in the world. Yesterday, the United States and Israel conducted a major joint military operation against Iran. While there is conflict globally, there is also conflict within ourselves. During times like these, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But today’s verse of the day gave me a boost of faith. It’s a comforting reminder that God’s promises are still active.
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. —2 Peter 3:9
Rising Depression and Loneliness in America
According to a News Gallup Poll released on September 9, 2025, the percentage of people experiencing depression and loneliness has been increasing. The share of U.S. adults who report currently having or being treated for depression in 2025 was 18.3%. This is a slight decrease from 18.9% in 2024 but a significant rise from the initial 10.5% measurement in 2015. Loneliness, often linked with depression, is also growing. 21% of individuals reported feeling significant loneliness in 2025.

Avoiding Dwelling on Sadness
I remember one night in my room, going through a tough time and scrolling through TikTok. The algorithm amplified my sadness. I was feeling depressed, lonely, and crying. I was embracing my sorrow, but I felt strange after reading comments from people who viewed death as a way out of their problems. I felt uneasy and looked up statistics on people who had taken their own lives and the signs they showed beforehand. I doubt anyone who commits suicide started out imagining such an ending. I realized I needed to be careful with my thoughts and feelings because I never want to reach a point where I would consider such things.
Inner Struggles Are Real, But Hope Is in Jesus
I know that’s a sensitive topic, and I didn’t mean to dwell on it for too long, but I guess I just had a moment of reflection on how we’re all dealing with something internally. The global conflict around us isn’t pretty; in fact, it’s worrying, but I believe it’s important that we, as individuals, find ways to manage the conflict inside us. And as a Christian, who is far from perfect, I know that the answer is Jesus.
The Bible nourishes our souls. I don’t want to pretend I’ve been reading it as I should, but I know it’s what keeps us going. When Jesus was tempted by the devil, he responded, “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” Jesus made it clear: God’s word is what gives us life. Hopelessness can directly lead to depression. However, as the verse states, “The Lord is not slow about His promise.” Hope is not lost because God’s promises are still active.

We’re Human, But Never Alone
I write because it helps me, and it’s a way for me to share God’s love. As imperfect as I am, I’m grateful that God is my anchor. I know life is hard and that work, relationships, and life in general take their toll. We’re not robots who don’t feel, hurt, or get tired; we experience those things. I tell my son, “It’s okay to feel what you’re feeling because we’re human.” But never forget that we’re not alone. Even on the worst days, God is still with us. Today is God’s reminder that His promises are still active, He’s still patient, and He still desires that we all come to repentance.
